Dr. David Hall is the longest-tenured doctor at HLAH. He has worked here since 1987, with one brief interruption when he practiced in Quincy, Illinois for four years. He and his wife Kathy have three adult children, Tristan, Rhiannon and Dylan. They have three dogs: a beagle named Olive, and two Golden Retrievers-Baron, who he has to fight for Kathy’s attention, and Maggie, their “special” child. They also share their home with two cats – Oliver, “originally my daughter’s cat who I won’t give back,” and Vienna, who runs the household. Dr. Hall’s hobbies include playing the guitar in the church band and with friends, and playing the drums in alternative cover bands. He loves the Cardinals, Blues and Chiefs, is a wine enthusiast, and enjoys traveling. Dr. Hall is a former member of veterinary study groups that are always working to improve hospital efficiency and service to patients and clients. As a doctor with 30-plus years of experience, Dr. Hall enjoys the fact that he is still learning new things from the younger DVMs! His favorite thing about Horseshoe is that every day is different. He gets to be a pediatrician, obstetrician, cardiologist, radiologist, dermatologist, oncologist, etc… No one here is “in it for the money”. He loves working with people who love what they do. He also loves the relationships he has formed with his clients – many of them feel more like friends!
Dr. Chris Randla
Dr. Christopher Randla has been a Veterinarian at Horseshoe since October 2000, and now is Dr. Hall’s partner in the practice. He graduated with a BS in Animal Science from University of Delaware, and with a DVM degree from North Carolina State University. He lives with his wife, Angie, and two children, Alison and Christopher. He also has two step sons, Josh and Larry. They have two dogs , Lacey and Chloe, and three cats – Tigger, Princess, and Snowball. Dr. Randla’s hobbies include watching his kids play sports and watching sports on TV, Six Flags, and playing video games with his kids and slot machines with his wife. His favorite thing about HLAH is the people (coworkers & clients) that he gets the opportunity to interact with on a daily basis, the variety of cases we get to see, and of course getting to improve the health and well being of our patients.
Dr. Caroline Hinrichs
Dr. Hinrichs joined the team as an associate veterinarian in 2017. She graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After graduation, she worked at Banfield Pet Hospital and then made house calls with a small practice in St. Louis. Her special areas of interest are dentistry and nutrition. She lives in St. Louis and has two chinchillas named Misty and Asha, as well as a young rescue dog named Stanley. One of Stanley’s favorite activities is chasing the chinchillas while they jump around their cage. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to see friends and family around the world, following the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals, reading, and spending time outside. She feels lucky to be part of the Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital staff because of the excellent medicine, patient care and customer service emphasized here.
Dr. Wendy Mollet
Dr. Wendy Mollet has worked for us as an Associate Veterinarian since November 2009. She graduated from University of Illinois in 1993. Her area of interest is emergency medicine. Dr. Mollet lives with her cat, Penny. Her hobbies include gardening, reading & hiking. Her favorite thing about Horseshoe is working with great doctors and staff in a state of the art facility taking care of awesome pets and pet owners.
Dr. Lindsey Gammon
Dr. Gammon graduated from veterinary school at the University of Illinois in 2011 and was practicing in Highland, Illinois. Dr. Gammon grew up in Collinsville and is now raising her family here with her husband, Greg. She has two daughters, Avery and Emilia. They also have 4 dogs: Ellie – a Shih Tzu who thinks she is human, Molly – a Papillion mix who rules the house, Addie – a Sheltie mix who is a little neurotic, and Louie – a Golden Retriever who is a true momma’s boy. In her spare time, she enjoys anything water related (swimming, pools, lakes, etc), St. Louis sports, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Gammon is excited to “come home” to Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital and is excited to make a difference in the lives of her patients.
Kellie has been at Horseshoe since December of 2014. She is originally from Kentucky, but moved here in 2011 to go to school. She graduated from Hickey College with a Bachelor’s in Business Management, and graduated with her MBA from Lindenwood. She has one dog, Amadeus, and three cats, Hercules, Meka, and Greta. Kellie enjoys watching college sports (HUGE University of Louisville fan), being outdoors, and spending time with her fiance, family, and friends. What she loves most about working at Horseshoe is working with the amazing staff and helping both pets and people.
Assistant Office Manager
Jena has worked at HLAH as Assistant Office Manager since April of 2001. She lives with her fiancée Chris and 2 dogs – both Yorkies – Piper, the little dog with a big ‘tude, and Maisey, the “favorite” (just don’t tell Piper). Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, watching movies with Chris, and snuggling with her pets. Jena’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is the close bond she has with a lot of the clients.
Scott has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since May of 2006. However, he was a volunteer for a year before getting hired! He lives with his partner, Jason, and 2 furry kids. Nevaeh is an EVIL cat, and Athena is a boxer mix who is very sweet, but wild. Scott’s hobbies include board and video games, and karaoke. His favorite thing about his job at HLAH is that it is the best job he’s ever worked! He has staff he can call his friends, a really cool boss, and the care they give is of a very high standard.
Treatment Room Technician
Renee has worked for us as a Treatment Room Technician since April 2005. She lives with her boyfriend, Kene. Renee rescues pets that are often difficult to adopt out. In her spare time, Renee enjoys rescuing animals and watching her boyfriend play in his band on the weekends. Renee’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is the rewarding aspect of caring for everyone’s pets.
Co-Lead Veterinary Technician
Laura has worked for us since August 2012, and has worked her way up to Veterinary Technician. She has 2 dogs – Luke, her problem child but her soul mate dog and Radar Sebastian, a terrier mix who is the newest member of the family – a cat, Cali, who loves to bask in the sun, and one guinea pig, Jeffrey. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, James, and her friends on a night off. Laura’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is all of her amazing coworkers who are practically family, as well as all of the fur children she makes a difference with every day. She says the furry faces never get old to her.
Kristen started as a veterinary technician in 2013 and started working at Horseshoe in 2019. She has 2 dogs, Louie and Nani, and 1 cat, Stitch. When she is not working, Kristen enjoys all things fall and Halloween, and spending time at the lake. Kristen is also a big sports fan and regularly cheers on the Blues, Cubs, and Chiefs!
Samantha has worked for us as a Veterinary Assistant/Treatment Room Technician since April of 2016. She lives with her boyfriend, Tristan, and their cat, Weep. Samantha’s hobbies include reading, camping and going to sporting events. What does she love about working at Horseshoe? She loves that she gets to care for animals and work with a group of people that are always willing to help and teach her new things.
Claudia started at Horseshoe Lake as an assistant in 2019. Frankie is her 1 year old sheepadoodle who loves getting in to mischief but also loves snuggles with his momma. In her spare time, Claudia likes horsebackriding, wineries, being active, and spending her summers at the Lake of the Ozarks. Claudia loves getting to work with animals and enjoys the amazing staff she gets to work with at Horseshoe. She already feels like she is part of the family here!
Laurie has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since January 2012. She lives with her husband, Andrew, their son Barrett, their daughter Bailey, and two dogs. Spud is a Pit Mix that is prone to accidents, and Bronson is a Boxers. They love their little humans, especially when they drop food! In her spare time, Laurie loves taking the kids to the park, splash pad, and zoo. Laurie’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is that she loves everyone she works with. She enjoys interacting with clients and caring for their pets. She loves spending time with the animals as if they were her own.
Amy has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since August 2012. She lives with her husband Neil, three dogs, and two cats. Zeppelin is a Pit Bull that believes he is a lap-dog, Chase is a Lab Mix that will do anything for food, and Lolli Pop is the resident princess adopted from Partners for Pets. Simba is a DSH orange tabby who thinks he is a dog, and Nala is a DSH black cat who is a daddy’s girl. In her free time, Amy enjoys watching Netflix with her husband, trying new restaurants in the area, spending time with her fur babies, and refurbishing furniture – making it shabby chic. Amy’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is that everyone is like family and she is able to have fun while working. She also loves meeting clients and their pets, developing relationships with them. She enjoys learning new things every day. Amy is also known for her Turkey Call.
Sarah has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since August 2013. She lives with her (let’s not say how many) cats. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and cross-stitching. Sarah’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is making a difference in people’s lives and meeting the vast array of animals.
Emily has worked for us as a Certified Veterinary Technician since January 2013. She previously worked at the hospital as an assistant to Dr. Hall from 1997-2001! Emily lives with her husband, Brian, and 2 daughters, Riley & Shannon. They have 2 dogs, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Ludo and a St. Bernard named Fezzik, 5 cats, Jack, Sir Didymus, Rupert, Pickles, and Mr. Mistoffelees, 2 guinea pigs, Anna and Elsa, and a leopard gecko, Cheech. In her spare time Emily enjoys activities with her family and/or dogs. Her favorite thing about working at HLAH is working with a great group of people to enhance the lives of pets.
Brian joined us as a Veterinary Assistant/Treatment Room Technician/Room Technician in August of 2016. He graduated from the Veterinary Technician Institute in August of 2016 and was placed at Horseshoe for an externship and was hired soon after. He currently lives with his dog Gwen and cat, Baby Kitty. In his spare time, Brian likes to play video games and participate in outdoor activities such as camping. Brian’s favorite part about working at Horseshoe Lake is being able to help the lives of so many animals and the clients that love them
Julia has worked for us as a Certified Veterinary Technician since October of 2017. She lives with her boyfriend Devin, their daughter Amelia, and their dog and cat. Noel is a lab mix who was rescued through Partners for Pets. Kitten is a DSH but believes he is part dog. She enjoys anything outdoors from hiking to sitting by a bonfire. She can be found on the lake in the summer, boating and water skiing. Her other hobbies include cooking, baking and binge watching her favorite shows on Netflix. Her favorite part about working at HLAH is helping pets every day and building relationships with clients and their pets. She also loves that the clinic initiated a fear-free environment, making visits to the hospital as stress free as possible for the animals.
Ciara started as a veterinary assistant in August 2015, and is now working as a receptionist. She is currently taking some general courses at Southwestern Illinois College. Her favorite things about working at Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital is all of the great life-long friendships she has made along the way, working with animals every day, and the fact that Horseshoe works very closely with Partners 4 Pets. Ciara has four furbabies of her own and their names are Delilah, Cowgirl, Princeton and Gretchen. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is to snuggle her furbabies!
Kaylee has worked for us as a Veterinary Assistant/Treatment Room Technician since August 2013. She has two dogs and a cat – a Yorkie mix named Pringles, a pit bull named Monet and a DSH named Boo. Kaylee’s hobbies include camping, hiking and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing about working at HLAH is being able to work with and help sick animals.
Shelby started working with us as an assistant in 2019. She has 1 dog named Scout. Shelby loves to be outdoors, especially anything involving hiking, fishing, camping, and hanging out with friends or family. She loves a lot of things about being at Horseshoe Lake, but some of her most favorite things include the people she works with, learning every day, and helping all of the fur babies.
Penny has worked for us as a Groomer since September 1997. She lives with her husband Nick, four dogs, and nine cats. Penny’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is that her work fulfills her passion for working with animals and she works with some great people.
Linda has worked for us as a Groomer since November 2001. She has two rat terriers, Sam who is a blind, but still spunky boy and LuLu who is her sweet, crazy girl. She also has a lab mix named Suzy who is the “best dog in the world”, and a quarter horse named Goldie who is “grumpy like me”. Her favorite thing about working at Horseshoe is that we are only 12 minutes from home.
Trish started with us as a groomer in 2019 but has 20+ years of experience. She has always had an unconditional love for animals, ever since she was a little girl. She has a special interest in terriers and sporting breeds, and is experienced in cat grooming. Creative grooming is also a passion of hers. Trish has even taught at a grooming academy. She is excited to make your fur babies part of her fur future!
Christina (you may hear us call her “Snyder”) has been a Receptionist and Technician at Horseshoe since May of 2004. She lives with her husband, Brad, and 3 dogs. Fester is a Chihuahua mix who likes to smile showing all of his teeth, Ellie May is an English Pointer whose nickname “Do-do-bird” says it all, and Zoey is the sweetest Chihuahua ever. Christina enjoys bow hunting, and spending time doing anything in the outdoors. Her favorite thing about working at Horseshoe is the friends she has made while working here; we are all a big family.
Rachel has worked for us as a Receptionist since April 2014. She lives with her roommate and four cats – Milo, Abby, Fred, and Mew. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys watching Netflix. Her favorite thing about Horseshoe is working with her roommate and playing with all the kitties.
Viktoria started working at Horseshoe Lake Animal in 2019 and is currently attending SIUE for a degree in Public Health. She lives with her boyfriend and Jack Russell puppy, Binny, who clearly runs the house. When Viktoria is not at Horseshoe or studying, she enjoys reading, camping, and going to Blues Games (LGB)!! Viktoria says that her favorite thing about working at Horseshoe Lake is playing with all of the puppies and kitties!
