Kelly

Kelly, Head Vet Tech

Kelly has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since September 2003, and is currently our Head Vet Tech. She has been married to Josh since June 2008. They have 4 furry kids at home; Tennessee the beagle mix who’s the boss lady and daddy’s special girl, Scooter the cat who is great at telling the dogs when it is time to eat, Louie the Pointer/Walker hound mix who is just Goofy Louie, and Apple the Chocolate Lab who has too many quirks to name… she’s special! Kelly’s hobbies include hunting, photography, exercise, spending time in the woods with her dogs, wine, and reading. If you live in Collinsville, you may see her running with Louie! Her favorite thing about working at Horseshoe is everything! Her fellow employees, the clients, the pets, and the job itself. She has met some great people, and has made many friends over the years. Most of all, she enjoys helping to improve the length and quality of pet’s lives.

Scott

Scott, Vet Tech/Pharmacy Manager

Scott has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since May of 2006. However, he was a volunteer for a year before getting hired! He lives with his partner, Jason, and 2 furry kids. Nevaeh is an EVIL cat, and Athena is a boxer mix who is very sweet, but wild. Scott’s hobbies include board and video games, and karaoke. His favorite thing about his job at HLAH is that it is the best job he’s ever worked! He has staff he can call his friends, a really cool boss, and the care they give is of a very high standard.

Renee B.

Renee B.

Renee has worked for us as a Treatment Room Technician since April 2005. She lives with her boyfriend, Kene. Renee rescues pets that are often difficult to adopt out. In her spare time, Renee enjoys rescuing animals and watching her boyfriend play in his band on the weekends. Renee’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is the rewarding aspect of caring for everyone’s pets.

JJ

JJ

JJ has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since December 2008. She lives with her husband, Scott, and three step children. She has three dogs – Harley, Dallas, and Dolce. Harley is a Pit Mix who is a big momma’s boy, Dallas is a gorgeous Rottweiler, and Dolce is a Shih Tzu. In her spare time, JJ enjoys showing horses with her husband. JJ’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is bonding with clients and their pets.

Rachael U.

Rachael U.

Rachael has worked for us as a Certified Vet Tech since August 2012. She lives with her husband, Paul, and 4 dogs, Oliver the beagle who is a grumpy sweetheart, Ryder the beagle whose tail never stops wagging, Congo and Dotson, mix breeds who are the resident foster failures. In her free time Rachael enjoys running marathons, playing and listening to music, and all things Disney (especially Disney World!) Originally from Wisconsin, she loves the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Wisconsin Badgers. Her favorite thing about working at HLAH is helping give animals a voice, meeting new people every day, & working with great people.

Laurie

Laurie

Laurie has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since January 2012. She lives with her husband, Andrew, their son Barrett, and three dogs. Spud is a Pit Mix that is prone to accidents, and Corona and Bronson are Boxers. In her spare time, Laurie loves painting, arts and crafts, watching movies, and going to the race track on her night off. Laurie’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is that she loves everyone she works with. She enjoys interacting with clients and caring for their pets. She loves spending time with the animals as if they were her own.

Amy

Amy

Amy has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since August 2012. She lives with her husband Neil, three dogs, and two cats. Zeppelin is a Pit Bull that believes he is a lap-dog, Chase is a Lab Mix that will do anything for food, and Lolli Pop is the resident princess adopted from Partners for Pets. Simba is a DSH orange tabby who thinks he is a dog, and Nala is a DSH black cat who is a daddy’s girl. In her free time, Amy enjoys watching Netflix with her husband, trying new restaurants in the area, spending time with her fur babies, and refurbishing furniture – making it shabby chic. Amy’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is that everyone is like family and she is able to have fun while working. She also loves meeting clients and their pets, developing relationships with them. She enjoys learning new things every day. Amy is also known for her Turkey Call.

Sarah

Sarah

Sarah has worked for us as a Veterinary Technician since August 2013. She lives with her (let’s not say how many) cats.  In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and cross-stitching. Sarah’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is making a difference in people’s lives and meeting the vast array of animals.

Emily

Emily

Emily has worked for us as a Certified Veterinary Technician since January 2013. She previously worked at the hospital as an assistant to Dr. Hall from 1997-2001! Emily lives with her husband, Brian, and 2 daughters, Riley & Shannon. They have 2 dogs, a Bernese Mountain Dog named Ludo and a St. Bernard named Fezzik, 5 cats, Jack, Sir Didymus, Rupert, Pickles, and Mr. Mistoffelees, 2 guinea pigs, Anna and Elsa, and a leopard gecko, Cheech. In her spare time Emily enjoys activities with her family and/or dogs. Her favorite thing about working at HLAH is working with a great group of people to enhance the lives of pets.

Shelbi

Shelbi

Shelbi has worked for us as a Certified Veterinary Technician since April 2014. She has two dogs and three cats. Her dogs, Maxine and Fletcher guard the house, while her three-legged DSH Anabelle, her tailless DSH Nina, and the baby of the bunch, Tess, rest comfortably. In her spare time, Shelbi enjoys reading, visiting family and friends, and doing yard work and other things around her home. Shelbi’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is that everyone works so well as a team and was included from the first day she started.

Kellie B

Kellie

Kellie started with us in December 2014 as a certified veterinary technician. Kellie is from Kentucky, and now lives in Maryville. She graduated from Hickey College’s Vet Tech Program. Kellie has three pets: Amadeus, a corgi mix, and two kitties, Hercules and Meka. Meka has one blue, and one green eye.Kellie enjoys reading, watching college sports (she’s a huge University of Louisville fan), and spending time with her pets, friends, family, and boyfriend. Kellie says she loves pets and people, and enjoys helping patients and owners alike!

Laura

Laura

Laura has worked for us since August 2012, and has worked her way up to Veterinary Technician. She has one dog – Zeus a Lab mix – a cat, Cali, who loves to bask in the sun, and one guinea pig, Jeffrey. In her spare time, Laura enjoys bowling and playing soccer, even though she says she is a terrible player. Laura’s favorite thing about Horseshoe is coming to work every morning knowing that all the boarding animals are excited to see her. She says the furry faces never get old to her.

Rachel E.

Rachel has worked with us as a veterinary technician/pharmacy technician since August 2015. She has a dog named Cash, a pit bull, but he believes he is one of the cats. He has 2 kitty brothers – Blue & Lynx that think they are dogs. The 3 of them are best buds. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking pictures (mostly of her fur children), traveling any time she can, hunting, and going to the lake. Her favorite thing about working at HLAH is getting to work with the local rescues and seeing unwanted cats and dogs rehabilitate and find their loving forever homes.

 

 

 

 

Brian

Brian joined us as a Veterinary Assistant/Treatment Room Technician/Room Technician in August of 2016. He graduated from the Veterinary Technician Institute in August of 2016 and was placed at Horseshoe for an externship and was hired soon after.  He currently lives with his girlfriend, Abbie, and 2 dogs and 2 cats. Lacey and Gwen are the dogs. Tortilla and Baby kitty are his two cats. In his spare time, Brian likes to play video games and participate in outdoor activities such as camping. Brian’s favorite part about working at Horseshoe Lake is being able to help the lives of so many animals and the clients that love them.
